Well that's interesting!
After Tatlow was elected to the British Columbia legislature in 1900, he introduced a private member's bill requiring all immigrants to be able to write in a European language. He died in Victoria in 1910 at the age of 54, after being ejected from his carriage. How's that for a non sequitur?
