Well that's interesting!
A one-term Conservative MP from Saskatchewan from 1930 to 1935, Weir had become a school inspector in 1919 after returning from World War I, but quit on his doctor's advice and began farming in an attempt to improve his health. He returned to farming after his electoral defeat, but was killed in a farming accident on March 7, 1939.
