Well that's interesting!
As the British Columbian Liberal Minister of Labour during World War II, Pearson was an adamant advocate of driving out the entire Japanese population from the province, despite assertion from the military, navy and RCMP that it posed no threat. His position was that the entire Japanese population could not be trusted.
