Well that's interesting!
An extreme perennial candidate, Baxter was an Progressive Canadian candidate 11 times from 2004 to 2019. The centre-right party, which was dissolved after the 2019 federal election, had been formed in protest of the merger of the Canadian Alliance with the Progressive Conservative Party. At age 71, Baxter ran for a twelfth time federally in 2021, this time as an independent, winning fewer votes than the number of votes rejected.
