Well that's interesting!
A Progressive Conservative, Stanfield was Nova Scotia's 17th premier from 1956 to 1967 and the leader of the federal PCs from 1967 to 1976. A respected statesmen, he was one of only several people granted the style "The Right Honourable" despite not being entitled by virtue of the office he held. He is sometimes referred to as "the best prime minister Canada never had."
