Well that's interesting!
Serving one term as a Progressive Conservative (1988–1993) and four terms as a Conservative (2004–2012) in the Commons, Richardson was known for his ability to be impartial to all sides in the House and in his Calgary riding office. But, impressed by Justin Trudeau's Liberal government, he attempted to get the Liberal nomination for the 2017 by-election in Calgary Heritage. He failed. Someone named Scott Forsyth won that nomination, and the by-election was won by the Conservative, Bob Benzen.
