Well that's interesting!
Re-elected for a second term in Vaudreuil—Soulanges, Wilson, a federal Liberal from Québec, intended to retire and thus resigned his seat in February 1929. However, he was persuaded to run in the by-election held in July to succeed himself, which he did. But he held his ground in 1930 and did not re-offer in the general election, instead being named to the Senate.
