Well that's interesting!
A Québec Conservative, Fauteux tried and failed six times to get elected to Parliament. Still, he was Solicitor General of Canada twice — from October 1 to December 28, 1921, and from August 23 to September 24, 1926. This mediocrity merited him to be named to the Senate in December 1933. (Indeed, the webmaster of PoliCan is clearly not a fan of the Senate.)
