Well that's interesting!
When the governing federal Progressive Conservatives were reduced to two seats in Parliament in 1993, Wayne held one of those seats and Jean Charest held the other. Fiscally, the former mayor of Saint John supported Canada's social safety net and the welfare state, but socially, she opposed same-sex marriage, abortion rights, and decriminalization of marijuana.
