Well that's interesting!
An Ontario Progressive Conservative, Skarica was against his government's plan to amalgamate Ancaster, Dundas, and Flamborough into the City of Hamilton, and promised during the 1999 election campaign that he would resign if he was unable to prevent it. His government went ahead with its plan at the end of 1999, so he resigned in February 2000.
