Well that's interesting!
The South Asian community and other members of Parliament criticized Lizon, the one-term Conservative MP for Mississauga East—Cooksville from 2011 to 2015, when he sent out a survey to his constituents in 2012, asking which languages they spoke, with one of them listed as "Indian." Liberal MP Jim Karygiannis issued a press release calling the question insulting, comparing it to asking someone if they speak Canadian or Mexican.
