Well that's interesting!
As the federal Conservative candidate in Toronto Centre in 2008, Meredith lost spectacularly against the then-Liberal Bob Rae, which merited him a nomination to the Senate two years later. However, he had to resign on May 10, 2017, following allegations that he had groomed a teenager for two years, starting when the girl was 16.
