Well that's interesting!
While running (unsuccessfully) for the federal seat of Nipissing in 1949 as the CCF candidate, Dickerson was found guilty of using his position as chair of North Bay's hydroelectricity commission to illegally tap into power lines to power rental housing that he owned without paying for it, although the conviction was overturned on appeal to the Supreme Court of Ontario. In the 1970s, he failed twice to enter the Ontario assembly as a Progressive Conservative.
