Well that's interesting!
Rowntree, an Ontario Progressive Conservative minister, was known to be a heavy drinker. During a session in the assembly in February 1969, he rose to speak and, after he had said a few words, Morton Shulman, an NDP opposition member, shouted, "The minister is drunk!" The speaker ended the debate. Rowntree said little more. He was removed from cabinet a year later.
