Well that's interesting!
In 2014, when Hastings ran for re-election as trustee at the Toronto District School Board, he was defeated by Michael Ford, who was 52 years his junior. Ford, the nephew of the eventual Ontario Premier Doug and the then-mayor of Toronto Rob, went on to be elected to the Ontario assembly.
