Well that's interesting!
Botsford died in Moncton, New Brunswick, of massive fractures and internal haemor­rhages after collapsing while descending a flight of stairs and falling through a large window to the board sidewalk below. Mayor of Moncton in 1862 and speaker of the legislative assembly from 1868 to 1870, he was no longer an MLA for Westmorland at the time of his death at age 76.
