Well that's interesting!
Residents of Moncton all know Parlee Beach, located 30 kilometres from downtown. However, perhaps few know that it was named after Thomas Parlee, mayor of Moncton from 1950 to 1952 and a New Brunswick Progressive Conservative MLA who died in office in late January 1957 in a plane crash in Kent County during a snow storm, en route from Moncton to Fredericton. The wreckage of the plane was only found the following May.
