Canada's electoral history from 1867 to today

Nobody often wins provincially or territorially, too
(except on Prince Edward Island)

by Maurice Y. Michaud (he/him)

Worst Electorate AwardIt is with a mix of sadness and disgust that I present this, the Worst Electorate Award, to the province of Ontario, which is given to the jurisdiction with the worse electoral participation rate, which has led Nobody to winning the most seats in Canada.

Now stop that chuckling, Alberta, British Columbia, and Manitoba! You're almost as bad. As for you, Newfoundland, a lack of cod liver oil since 1993 seems to be preventing you from building enough strength to go vote. (You're excused, however, for 2021 because of the COVID outbreak during the campaign.) And what's wrong, dear Nova Scotia? You used to be one of the best in class; now, you're at the back of the pack with the Western provinces. And yes, Saskatchewan, you're slipping!

But congratulations, Prince Edward Island! You remain the best in class. Sure, you let Nobody slide through one time out of four in 2023, which is a lot for you, but one time does not a habit make, isn't that right?

In this table, each large number in bold represents the number of times that Nobody won in that particular general election. All these numbers, except if the value is zero, are clickable. Thus you can get the list of the ridings where Nobody has won, as well as the names of those who were in fact elected.
