Are people elected today in Canada older or younger than they used to be?
That depends on how far back we look and for which legislature. For instance, the members of the legislature for North-West Territories from 1888 to 1905 were fairly young. Meanwhile, there have been oscillations federally since 1867, but compared to the late 20th century or the beginning of Confederation, today’s MPs are older. However, one thing is for sure: there is more diversity today than there has ever been.
