Well that's interesting!
The bridge that links New Brunswick to Québec between Campbellton and Pointe-à-la-Croix is named after Van Horne, but should it still be? During his flamboyant campaign for New Brunswick's 1967 general election, as leader of the Progressive Conservatives, he frequently mocked the Liberal premier's mixed Acadian and First Nations heritage, saying, "These half-breeds shouldn't drink liquor." Some might argue that the times were different and that people could say such things back then. But, really... At the risk of being accused of wokeism...
