The MMP simulator can be run on all the general elections in this jurisdiction. "Acc?" stands for missing data (namely races entered as having been won by acclamation when in fact the results are unknown), while "Minis." shows the number of ministerial by-elections. The results for several by-elections are missing for this jurisdiction. Up until the middle of the 20th century, unseating a member was commonplace and the mechanism to challenge someone's election seems to have been very lax when viewed through presentist lens, as many by-elections were held merely because the challenger — often the government or the defeated incumbent — did not like the result. What's more, newly appointed ministers had to resign and run in a ministerial by-election. Therefore, by-elections were far more frequent than they are today. |

→ The sum of the enumerated voters (Eligible) for each riding is greater than the population of the entire province, which, of course, does not make any sense. That's how oddly data at Elections PEI is compiled!
→ The election in Kings 1st was delayed to 11 July 1966 due to the death of Liberal assemblyman and candidate William A. Acorn five days before the general election.

Once the Public Schools Act was passed after the 1877 session of the Assembly, the coalitions of Free Schoolers and Denominationalists dissolved and members technically reverted to their traditional party allegiances. The governement thus became a Conservative majority, but Louis Henry Davies, a Liberal, remained premier until the end of the 27th assembly.
FREE Two seats won by acclamation.
DENO Four seats won by acclamation.
